A 32-year-old woman at 31 weeks of her first gestation presents with pain and swelling of her left leg for one day. No other symptoms are present. She was diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus at 27 weeks of gestation, which is well controlled on dietary changes alone. Her medical and surgical histories are otherwise unremarkable. She is not on any medications or supplements. A full blood count, renal profile, and liver profile are all within normal parameters.
